Cobra MOTO is excited to welcome seven-year-old Waylon Gibbs to the Cobra Elite team. With a moto win and a second-place overall finish at the AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at Loretta Lynn’s among his favorite racing memories, Gibbs brings proven speed and a love for riding to the program.
Waylon describes himself as a little quiet until he gets to know you. On the track, his personality comes through a little differently.
“I might be a little quiet until I get to know you, but I’m definitely not shy on the track,” Gibbs said. “I love going fast and hitting big jumps!”
His speed and progress have caught the attention of Cobra MOTO Elite Team Manager Marc Canellas, who sees plenty to be excited about as Waylon joins the team.
“We are very excited to have Waylon join the team,” said Canellas. “He has shown some amazing speed and progress, and he is just as impressive off the track. Everyone around him loves him. We can’t wait to see what the future holds.”
For Waylon, his accomplishments at Loretta Lynn’s stand out as milestones he will always remember.
“Some of my favorite motocross memories are getting a moto win at Loretta Lynn’s and finishing second overall at the National Championship,” Gibbs said. “Those are two moments I’ll never forget!”
Away from racing, Waylon enjoys fishing and riding his electric bike with his little brother. Their shared enthusiasm for riding means almost anything can become the next jump.
Through it all, his favorite part of motocross remains simple: time on his dirt bike with the people closest to him.
“Most of all, I just love riding my dirt bike and having fun with my friends and family!”
Cobra MOTO looks forward to supporting Waylon as he continues to develop, build on his accomplishments and make new memories with the Cobra Elite team.
Welcome to Cobra Elite, Waylon!
