The mud was flying, the track was treacherous, and 215 riders from 34 nations were battling it out in Romagné, France at the 2025 FIM Junior Motocross World Championship. Through the tough conditions, two Cobra Elite Team riders on Cobra CX65s stood atop the podium – and one of them was holding gold!
For Cobra MOTO, July 5-6 marked a watershed moment. After two years of building our presence at the World Championship level, we didn’t just make it to the podium – we owned it. Texas rider Kannon Zabojnik delivered our first-ever world championship victory, while Levi Geis claimed bronze, giving Cobra two spots on the 65cc 10-12 division podium.
When Conditions Get Tough, Cobra Gets Going
The weather in Romagné wasn’t just challenging – it was brutal. Rain hammered the track throughout the weekend, turning it into a mud-packed survival test. These are the conditions that build champions, and our Elite riders proved they are among them.
Kannon’s race perfectly embodied the Cobra spirit. He grabbed the holeshot – but went down in the treacherous conditions. Instead of letting it rattle him, he fought back through the field, regained the lead, and was out front when he crossed the finish line.
“I had the most memorable time this past week in France at the FIM Jr MX World Championship,” said Levi Geis after his podium finish. “It was an absolute mudder and like nothing I have ever ridden before.”
Historic Achievement for Team USA
Kannon’s victory carries significance beyond just Cobra’s first world title. His win marked the first by an American rider in the 65cc class since 2013 and Team USA’s first World Junior Championship since 2018. That’s a seven-year drought broken by a young rider on a Cobra CX65.
Team USA and Cobra also made history with Cobra Elite Team rider, Raycin Kyler, the first female rider ever to compete for Team USA at the Junior Motocross World Championship. Racing her Cobra CX65 in the competitive 65cc category, she finished 14th against the world’s fastest young riders
As we celebrate this historic achievement, we’re already looking ahead. Kannon, Levi, and Raycin have shown that American riders on Cobra machines can compete with anyone in the world, under any conditions.
Congratulations to Team USA – Kannon Zabojnik, Levi Geis, Raycin Kyler on this incredible achievement. This is just the beginning of Cobra’s world championship story.
