The Road to Loretta’s continued this past weekend at the Birch Creek Regional, and Cobra riders once again delivered strong performances across the Micro and 65cc divisions. With only one final opportunity remaining to qualify for the 2026 AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch, Cobra riders showed determination, resilience, and championship-caliber speed.
Leading the Cobra Elite Team headlines was Robert Fender, who captured the Micro 3 Championship and secured his qualification in the 65cc 7-9 class. Fender’s performance was especially impressive considering he returned to competition less than three weeks after suffering a broken thumb. Despite the setback, he battled through the weekend to earn his spot at The Ranch.
Fellow Cobra Elite Team rider Rivers Rice also punched his ticket to Loretta’s in the 65cc 7-9 class. One of the youngest riders competing in the division, Rice continued to showcase his talent and composure against older competitors, earning an impressive qualification and adding to Cobra’s growing list of riders headed to Tennessee.
Another inspiring story came from Cobra Elite Team rider Jarrett Tincher, who qualified in the 65cc 10-11 Limited class. Less than a year removed from a torn ACL, Tincher’s return to the regional stage and qualification for Loretta’s marks a significant milestone in his recovery and racing journey.
Outside of the Elite Team, Cobra riders continued to dominate. Indigo Spina-Colp delivered one of the strongest performances of the weekend, sweeping all three motos in the 65cc 7-9 Limited class with a perfect 1-1-1 score to capture the championship.
Additional Cobra highlights included strong finishes from Cade Swartfager, who earned the 65cc 7-9 Championship, along with numerous top-six finishes throughout the Micro and 65cc classes. The depth of Cobra talent was on display all weekend as riders continued adding valuable Loretta’s qualifications.
“These are the weekends that define the Road to Loretta’s,” said Marc Canellas, Cobra Elite Team Manager. “Robert, Rivers, and Jarrett each have incredible stories behind their qualifications. Robert fought back from a broken thumb; Jarrett battled through a major knee injury, and Rivers proved that age is just a number when you have the determination to compete. Seeing these riders achieve their goals is what this program is all about. We’re proud of all our Cobra families and excited to see who can earn one final ticket this coming weekend.”
With one final qualifier remaining, the opportunity to earn a spot at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch is running out. Cobra MOTO wishes all riders the best of luck as they make their final push toward the biggest amateur motocross event in the world.
